Two men were arrested Saturday on murder charges in the deaths of two women and two children who were found dead in their upstate NY apartment.
Shanta Myers, 36; her partner Brandi Mells, 22; and two of her three children; Shanise Myers, 5, and Jeremiah "JJ" Myers, 11; were found tied up in their basement apartment with their throats slashed.
Cops say Justin C. Mann, 24, and James W. White, 38, both of Schenectady, were arrested late Friday, the Albany Times Union reported.
Both Mann and White have a criminal records.
Court papers revealed the murders taking place at about 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21.

Troy Police credited the arrests to the work of Troy Police Detectives, the NYSP Major Crimes Unite, NYS DOCCS, the Rensselaer County District Attorney's Office and several other law enforcement agencies.
A preliminary hearing for Mann and White is scheduled for January 4.
At the scene, police recovered a knife with blood on both the handle and the blade located on a ledge near a closet close to the victims. At a press conference held today, police say that they knew the victims but would not say how or discuss the motive because of the ongoing investigation. Shakera Symes, sister of Shanta Myers, told Spectrum News in Albany that she's now raising Myers' 15-year-old son, who has been staying with her for two months. Mann had been on parole. "The emotions of a police officer are something you repress because there is a job to be done", Tedesco said, adding that no one involved in this case will ever forget it.
Told the teen via the Times Union, 'I'm not sure if they're coming for me next.' .
