Donald Glover's 'Atlanta' set to return in March with new title

The network kept referring to the television series as Atlanta Robbin' Season, not Atlanta. "We just tried to be ourselves".

Specifically, the creator, writer and executive producer revealed, the Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation was the source of inspiration. "We looked at it as 30 minutes on television", Glover said. Before he left to shoot the Lucasfilm blockbuster, however, Glover assembled his writers room and got the scripts for Atlanta Season 2 ready to go, so when he wrapped Solo last fall, he was ready to move right into production. "You laugh, but Tiny Toons Adventures was unbelievable".

Executive producer and director Hiro Murai pointed to the season's unique title, Atlanta Robbin' Season, as a palette cleanser of sorts.

"They were broken up into a bunch of episodes but if you watched them all together they were a movie", Stephen Glover said. "We picked a lane a little bit more". "Basically, a bunch of crime happens in the city, because everyone has their Christmas gifts, people just have more stuff and money". Says Stephen Glover, "Atlanta has a lot going on and part of that is upward mobility of the people who live there". Speaking at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Friday, Glover explained - to confused laughter - that one of the biggest influences on Season 2, which is called Atlanta Robbin' Season, wasa 1992 straight-to-video animated film featuring the baby versions of Looney Toons characters. "We wanted to make that the backdrop to the season and our characters are going through that same desperate time of transition from their old lives to where they're headed now", he continued.
