The company is providing a system image link for each of the four compatible devices on the Get Android P webpage. Now Google is adding a bunch of new tools for neural networks in Android P: "Pad, BatchToSpaceND, SpaceToBatchND, Transpose, Strided Slice, Mean, Div, Sub, and Squeeze". Developers and Android enthusiasts can now get it up and running on select devices.

Google was expected to offer the Android P developer preview download this month and that is precisely what the company has done today. There are factory images for the Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL, Google Pixel 2, and Google Pixel 2 XL, and you can sideload them right now.

Another feature coming with Android P is Wi-Fi Round-Trip-Time (RTT) support.

As for what's included in this update, Google has included quite a few new goodies. With Wi-Fi RTT, your phone can use nearby Wi-Fi hotspots to find your position when you're indoors. Now, with Android P, it's expanding and improving this API, with Neural Networks API 1.1. Android P will let apps manage how the content is displayed on devices with a notch on the front.

Google hasn't said when Android P will be released to the public or what dessert it might choose to represent the "P" release.

Those phones got Oreo, but when P comes out in August or September they will be nearly three years old, so what Google is doing is at least consistent with its own policy. Over at Droid-Life, they've taken the liberty of ripping the Pixel Launcher that comes installed in the developer preview and releasing it to the World Wide Web to enjoy.
