  • David Warner and Quinton de Kock get in a heated exchange during the tea break on day four of the first test at Kingsmead

CCTV footage from the fourth day of the Durban Test showed Warner walking up the stairs to the players' dressing room, engaged in heated conversation with someone else.

Another video from just before the incident surfaced on Wednesday showing Warner repeatedly calling De Kock a "sook", which is Australian slang for somebody that is perceived to be soft.

Quinton de Kock of South Africa shakes hands with the David Warner of Australia.

While Warner received a level-two charge for breaching the players' code of conduct, de Kock was judged to have committed a less serious level-one offence.

He could also be fined 100 percent of his match fee from the first test.

Warner had been charged with a level 2 offense, while De Kock had been charged with a level 1 misdemeanor. He is not the sort of bloke who will whinge about being sledged, I've hear blokes say a lot of things on the cricket field that don't bother him, I have never seen him react like he reacted when we were coming off the field.

Crowe is also expected to meet skippers Steve Smith and du Plessis this week, imploring them to take control of their teams and ensure the next match is played in better spirits.

South Africa are understood to be disappointed Warner didn't receive a level-three charge from the ICC, something that would have meant he missed the second test in Port Elizabeth.

According to cricket.com.au, De Kock has opted to contest the charge and will now face a hearing on Wednesday evening in Port Elizabeth.

However, South African management has alleged that Warner called de Kock a "bush pig" before that. As I went past de Kock he said what he said, and luckily I suppose I was there in between.

"Gilly - Warner crossed many personal boundaries with the South Africans, so we can't be surprised when there is eventually a reaction", he said.
