LeBron James: Cavs star makes surprise revelation after 76ers defeat

After a 132-130 win that went down to the wire and saw his Philadelphia 76ers surpass the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA's Eastern Conference standings Friday, Philadelphia's Ben Simmons used his Instagram account to show respect to the man widely regarded as the NBA's best player. The Sixers are now riding a 12-game winning streak. At times, it looked like Marco Belinelli understood this and did not even try: you could nearly see James' tail wagging every time the overmatched swingman picked him up on the perimeter off a screen.

"He is fantastic", Brown said.

James was booed each time he touched the ball and signs were spotted in the stands that read "Keep Cryin' in Cleveland" and "We Don't Want You".

"I already knew that on the play before that when I drove on LeBron that I wasn't gonna get a call, so why put myself in that position?"

"I've been coming to Philly for a while", James said.

"We just weren't ready for the speed, the pace they play at", Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue said. Earlier in the season, they got dinged by the Portland Trail Blazers after leading by 22, and 14 entering the fourth quarter.

With a buzz in the city over the Sixers that hasn't been felt since the pre-Process days, they romped to a 30-point lead in the first half and scored 78 points at the break.

Simmons threw a lob pass from half court to Richaun Holmes for a high-flying dunk.

PHOENIX - Nikola Mirotic scored a season-high 31 points and tied a season best with 16 rebounds, Anthony Davis had 33 points and 11 boards, and the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Phoenix Suns 122-103 on Friday night.

Simmons finished with another triple-double (27 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists), but veteran guard JJ Redick contributed 28 and fellow sharpshooter Marco Belinelli poured in 23 off the bench.

Jackson scored 12 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter and overtime as the Pistons beat the Mavericks 113-106 Friday night.

Cleveland cut the lead to single digits in the third quarter. With 1.9 seconds remaining, Robert Covington fouled James on the wing as he turned to launch an off-balance triple off the dribble. But before the 76ers could even think, "We did this without Joel Embiid", the Cavaliers roared back to win the second half, 75-54. However, James' effort was marred by his miscues from the free throw line, as he made only 6-of-11 shots from the line and missed a crucial one in the final seconds of regulation.

James sunk his first free throw, but was off the mark on his second. This would have been considered a successful season if the Sixers just made the postseason, but that's no longer the case. G Jose Calderon (left hamstring) did not play. Maybe in his final season with the Miami Heat, which included playing a #1 seed Indiana Pacers in the conference finals, and his first year with the Heat, when Miami faced Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls; a Bulls team that swept the Heat in the regular season, and had the best record in the National Basketball Association.
